Emdad Rahman's work including his writings have been celebrated in the Muslim world. He has been shortlisted four times for the prestigious Muslim news awards. His voluntary work benefits Muslims as well as non Muslims alike whether it is coaching, mentoring, teaching or serving the homeless. Emdad's activities have impacted the Muslim world by enhancing it's reputation and inspiring countless others to stand up and contribute for their communities ball over the world. It has also greatly helped to break down negative stereotypes of Muslims. His work involves volunteering with young and old, male and female. The impact and influence the nominee had on the world and humanity:

Emdad has a worldwide following he voluntary writes for many publications, His blog, the East London News, the London Bangla and The Pavement newspaper for the homeless. He has also previously volunteered at the Barking & Dagenham Talking Newspaper for the blind.

Emdad has blogged for the Mayor of London's Team London and these voluntary roles have given him an international platform.

His voluntary work encompasses all communities, nationally and internationally

- Coaching youngsters
- Writing
- soup kitchen in Stratford
- milk appeal for Syria
- mountain trek for Syrian orphans
- Planned July trip to highlight Sarebrenica genocide

How the nomineeā€™s activities and achievement will continue to impact and influence in the future:

Emdad has been volunteering for over 20 years and there is no sign of any let up. I am aware that he will continue to diversify and engage more with diverse communities and the needy whether it is at home or abroad. His dream is to support an orphanage one day in another country.

He will volunteer for the Tour de France Grand Depart and has been recognised internationally through his volunteering and blogging.
