-Leader of El-Qoot team, 2013- selected from 10,000 applications worldwide to compete in the Dubai Regional Final of the prestigious Hult Prize to help food security (a challenge made by President Clinton).
 -2012 first prize BAYER Award (co-advised by Pascal Saikaly and Gary Amy) “End of desertification - a novel & sustainable technology for the Middle East and North Africa arid lands”, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, 2012.
