Malika MacDonald's dedication as a community leader and activist, speaks for itself. She currently holds the position of Director of ICNA Relief Massachusetts as well as National Director of ICNA Relief Women's Transitional Housing. Her personal experiences and deep insight into the social situation at the ground level, allows her to effortlessly connect with the people around her. These qualities have facilitated her growth into a speaker who is dynamic, energetic, and practical. Her approach lends itself to engagement and dialogue among participants creating an atmosphere where real content can be passed on effectively. Malika gives off an aura of comfort and ease, through which she is able to deliver powerful messages, to people of all backgrounds and age groups.

 
The impact and influence the nominee had on the Muslim word:

Malika has developed an effective model for Transitional Housing for Women and now oversees 11 homes across the United States. These homes allow women an opportunity to develop themselves while overcoming homelessness. She is also a strong advocate against Domestic Violence, a survivor herself, she speaks with passion and knowledge. She developed trainings which address the issue of violence in the Muslim community and discuss ways to foster healthy relationships.

Malika is a down to earth leader, she leads others to lead and believes in the power of shared vision. She nurtures others to be leaders in their own lives.

 
How the nominee’s activities and achievement will continue to impact and influence in the future:

Malika cultivates future leaders by being an example while nurturing leadership in others. She identifies strengths in others and utilizes them, so others reach their full potential.
The Transitional Housing Network she has developed helps women learn skills and gain self-sufficiency which in and of itself will effecting the future of women and children.
